The upcoming Marin Home & Garden Expo will have a bit of everything—from green building to Victorian interiors, from Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums to guest appearances by HGTV stars.
But lovers of Eichler homes will have an expo within the expo all their own. The two-day event, which runs Saturday and Sunday June 2 and 3 at the Marin County Fairgrounds and Exhibit Hall at the Marin Civic Center in San Rafael, features the exhibit ‘Eichler Now: A Fresh Look at Mid-Century Modern.’
Fans can watch films about architecture, hear from experts in Eichler renovation and landscaping, and visit Eichler-specific exhibitors.
On Sunday (6/3), speakers include Eichler specialist Catherine Munson, a Marin realtor who worked for Joe Eichler, and architect Bill Hansell. “We will also have people there who have done extraordinary things with their Eichlers,” Munson says, “from super-slick rebuilds to wonderful updates while leaving them essentially alone.”
Architect Dan Liebermann, a designer of extraordinary freeform Bay Tradition homes, will speak at 2 p.m. Saturday (6/2).
Eichler specialty exhibitors include Abril Roofing, Eichler Solutions, Michael Tauber Architecture, R.H. Hydronics, and Organic Garden Services.
Admission is $10, seniors $6, children 12 and under free. For more information, visit marinhomegarden.com.
