Doorbell replacement

We have a recessed doorbell located in the kitchen, which is no longer ringing. Our handyman tried to repair it, and looked for a replacement unit to fit in the recess with no success. Any suggestions?

At least in my tract (Fairglen in Willow Glen, San Jose) I believe the original doorbells were Nutone. Try using your favourite web search engine (google, for instance) to locate their website and check for authorized repair and service companies. You should be able to buy parts or a replacement system through them.
