Eichler cooktop/range
I'm down to one burner left on my electric cooktop and am having difficulty finding a replacement for the 44 1/2 x 17 1/2 current cooktop. Has anyone had success in simply replacing the cooktop - I'm not ready for a remodel, I just want to replace.
Have you had the Thermador-authorized service repair people for your area in to take a look? I had burners quit when wires worked themselves off/loose from the wiring block under the burner. The service repair people corrected that--might save you the hassle of replacing the whole unit. Even if the unit itself is bad, some parts are still available and they might be able to fix.
Worth the service call to have them check it out. Once they take a look, ask them to estimate how long/how much to fix before proceeding.
