Enclosing an Atrium Eichler

We’re thinking about enclosing our atrium Eichler.
The best option would be to get some type of system that we could open and close (maybe on tracks). We’ve been also thinking about doing it in glass….like a sunroom.
Just don’t know if it would get too hot.
We’ve seen atriums covered in our area. Some look great from the inside, but not so good from the outside (curb appeal). Some are just terrible from the inside and out.
Anybody have any advice.

Dont do it! it really decreses the value and point of living in an Eichler home, it will get hot year round and it is not really plesant. also the city might have earthquake code issues about the glass, and always get permits.

There's actually a very well written article on this topic on this very web site:

The Rollmatic people were responsive and wanted $14k + three months lead time. The Eclipse guys never responded to my email.
