hanging doors and sliding glass doors

Our sliding glass doors have latches on the handle you pull to open the door. They are breaking off one by one and I was wondering if they can easily be replaced (the latch not the handle).

Also we have some hanging doors that we took down throughout the house that we are going to dispose of would anyone like them?

Hi,

By "hanging doors", I'm assuming you mean closet doors. If so, the closet doors vary from tract to tract (and in some cases, owner to owner) in terms of size and materials. Some were metal frame with grasscloth insert, others wood frame with zolatone insert, etc.

I would be interested in knowing, first, if the doors have their original finish as far as you know. Past that, sizes would be useful.

You can email me direct if you like at:

Thanks for making your castoffs available to other Eichler owners :-)

I recently interviewed a vendor for the annual advertising directory, soon to be found in your mailbox, and they specialize in repairing all kinds of sliding glass doors, including replacing latches and handles. They are a farily new advertiser here, so you may not have heard about them. Anyway, it is one place to start...

If you are indeed referring to the original sliding closet doors I am looking for three, depending on size and if they are still available.

Will you please send email to me at

Thank you!
