Attention all MCM design addicts, design*sponge / apartment therapy readers, and all you creative types with access to a moving van or truck: we have two original Eichler upper cabinets with sliding doors available to anyone who can come get them. These cabinets were in our kitchen and although we had hoped to repurpose them, we just don't have the time to refinish them, nor the storage space to hold onto them. One cabinet measures 93" long x 19" high x 13.5" deep. The second cabinet measures 95" long x 24.5" high x 13.5" deep. We had planned to refinish the dark wood, add some tall stainless steel legs (available at IKEA), paint the doors a snappy chartreuse green, maybe add some contrasty blick decals or a Nancy Drew inspired silhouette (grass cloth could work too!) and use one as a credenza in the dining room and the other as a media cabinet (with a flat screen tv on top) in the living room. Would have been so cool; would have made for such a fabulous "before and after" post on design*sponge! Come get them, spend a weekend being creative and voila, you'll have a piece of custom furniture that would have otherwise cost you an arm and a leg. If you're not that creative (or handy), I suppose they'd make great storage cabinets in someone's garage or laundry room, but that would be such a sad use for something with so much potential! FYI, for anyone thinking of putting these into their own Eichler kitchen, check those measurements; these are from a custom Eichler, so they may not necessarily fit into your Eichler kitchen. These cabinets are very solid and in good condition. They are currently stored in our garage; we need them out of here asap. It kills me to get rid of these, but I have no choice. Email me at [email protected] if you are interested. I'm located on the Stanford campus, near Palo Alto. Come on, you know you want them!
If you still have the cabinets, I'm interested in them for my den. Our kitchen lost all the original sliding cabinets, and this would be one way to regain them, just in another room. You can reach me direct at johnklima dot yahoo dot com. Thanks!
Hi,
if you still have them, we would be much interested to have them as "modern wardrobe" in our bedroom.
