Looking for gardener recommendations in Sunnyvale

My question is not Eichler-specific but I am new to the Fairbrae neighborhood and haven't gotten a chance to know my neighbors yet. (Want to bake something and drop it off at their door to introduce us, but haven't found the time.) Just looking for someone affordable and reliable to help us with general lawn care such as mowing, raking, leaf-blowing, weeding, pruning, etc.

I tried a local Sunnyvale message board without success. Hoping for better luck here. We could just find someone off craiglist but would prefer to find someone through a recommendation.

Please email names & contact info to mellowoutcafe AT yahoo DOT com.

Thank you in advance.

By the way, I appreciate the feedback and assistance I got with my laundry closet question a few weeks back.

The gardener you want probably does not advertise, or use Craigslist. A good method is to approach neighbors with well-kept yards. Gardeners like to get jobs close to other jobs. I have always placed a premium on the day of the week the gardener is available. I like gardeners to do their work late in the week, so I get a chance to see it over the weekend.

Having a gardener is such a relief. I have had the same one for 15 years, and still really appreciate the work. Even though I enjoy gardening, I can't always do it. Even with a gardener, there is still more than I can get done.
(oh yeah ) The relief came when I no longer had to worry about my children doing the yard work.
