We bought our place last year and our dog ran into one of our sliding glass doors and broke it last week. We will be replacing all the doors in the house next year and just need a door for one year. Anybody know where to find an original 3' by 6' sliding glass door. Also, how do you determine the make of the door...I've been looking, but can't find any labels.
We live in Terra Linda. I’ve been driving up and down the streets to see if anybody is replacing doors and has a spare… no luck.
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks
All the Eichler sliding doors I've come across are made by Arcadia (some were aluminum frame, others steel). None of the door models I'm aware of are currently made.
Have you considered having the broken glass replaced by a sliding door/screen company? I used a company in Cupertino (though not your neck of the woods) to replace all the glass in my sliding doors with tempered glass.
If you don't find a spare door in the neighborhood, you might try a sliding door repair company in your neck of the woods.

I had the glass broken in one of our sliders last year, and the local glass shop (in Mountain View) replced the glass -with modern safety glass no less- for about $200. This did not seem like an unusual repair to the glass guy. So, no need to replace the whole unit if its just the glass thats broken.
After the glass is replaced, make sure you run the door open & shut a few times to make sure the frame has been properly re-assembled, mine required a small bit of tweaking by the glass guy.
Hi
If you want to replace the patio doors, mine are scheduled to be replaced starting Friday. I anticipate the glass may break though....as others have suggested, i think replacing the glass in situ will be cheaper and easier...assuming no frame damage.
I am in Palo Alto, cs 1962, arcadia sliders.
