Original radiant heat furnace

Hi all,

I did a quick search of past posts but could not find an answer to my question. Over the past few years, my original radiant heating furnace has been working fine. This year, it appears that when it is turned on, there is no flame. I suspect I need to re-ignite the furnace somehow since it sounds like it works when the thermostat is turned up. Does anyone have an easy suggestion to do this?

while you might get it serviced (cleaned, etc. -- they do need this) if your boiler is original, it's likely that it's at the end of it's useful life. heading into cold-season, you might consider a new boiler altogether. if done before the end of the year, you could take advantage of a $1500 tax credit/rebate. we had ours replaced in march with a triangle/tube unit (just in time for summer, but we knew it was time) by our favorite heating contractor.
