Be sure they prime the back of the siding and the bottom where water splashes up. Also make sure they use Tyvek paper under it and look for dry-rot on your framing and make sure it is treated before moving on in order to stop the rot from spreading. Your contractor will also need to use calk where the seams are and where the nails have gone in in order to make it look smooth because you will notice when it is painted if the caulking is not done.
