Encroaching tree roots are forcing us to consider breaking up the original concrete walkways that surround our Eichler and replacing them with paving tiles or stones. Can you suggest two or more names of reliable people we could contact?

I live in Palo Alto too and just a word of warning...The City replaced a sidewalk in front of a few houses on Louis Road and during the last windstorm, a big Modesto Ash next to the sidewalk fell over on a garage. Another big tree fell at Mitchell Park too. Both had tree roots that were probably cut to make room for new sidewalks. I know the one on Louis had to had tree roots cut to make way for the new sidewalk. If you do it, be very careful with the roots and perhaps consult an arborist before removing. Good luck.
