Hi All,

Just bought an Eichler and hope to learn a lot more about it on this board.

I have a quick question. I noticed that all the screen doors in my house are on the inside of the glass. Is this normal? I think's it kind of odd that from inside the house, I have to open the screen door first, then the glass door. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Thanks,
JT

I believe that is normal, but that doesnt make it any less odd. having been in in our place about 2 years now, I dont notice it anymore, but I also remember noticing it was odd when when moved in.

enjoy your eichler! -L

Hi JT,
Our home has the screen doors on the "inside" of the house. I think it is unique to the Eichler aesthetic. The way I view the placement is another way to seamlessly bring the environment inside. I also find it handy in the summers, as my sliders are often open to cool the house.

Does this also mean that the sliding portion is on the outside of the stationary portion?
