Siding Repair

Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm slowly but surely renovating our San Rafael Eichler. I have a problem I don't really know how to fix at all. The siding on my garage doors is split at the bottom and separating. I'd like to stop it from getting worse first. Then, I was curious if anyone could point me to any repair tips for Eichler siding please that might help in this case?

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about: (updated link to photo)

Any advice much appreciated.

My guess is it's either dry rot on the siding that's making the plywood weak, or the door's been rubbing on the ground or the center guide and shredding the first layer of the plywood. If it's the second, then it may be possible to adjust the guide rollers to keep the door higher. (I don't know if that's possible, but I'd guess it there's an adjustment for that.)

Either way, the siding's probably hard to repair - some of the epoxy wood replacements might work, but getting the grooves right would require a lot of by-hand work. Just replacing the siding and / or rebuilding the sliding garage doors might be easier.

Replacing the siding could be easier that putting some epoxy for repairing it. The door might always expose to water from the rain so it easily rot.seo services
