spa addition to pool?

Hey--
has anyone ever added an in-ground spa to an already existing pool? Out pool was installed a year after the house was built (1965). It is an odd shape with a terribly ugly and painful "broken-flag-stone" coping. We would eventually like to break up the coping and redo all the concrete work around the pool. Anyone have experience in the budget to add on an in-ground spa? thanks
