Three color Eichler OK?

Hello Eichler people,

I am really close to having the outside of my home painted. Right now it is two color -- green and white.

I would like to make it green, white and chocolate brown. I understand that I can paint my home any color I want. But, having said that, I don't to something stupid.

So... green siding, white eaves, and chocolate brown beams and the.... and the.... thingee that goes around the roof.

Or would three colors make my home too busy looking?

Thank you.

David

Our siding and eaves are a sage green (close match to the original interior ceiling stain), our beams are white (same color indoor and out) and our fascia is brown.

Sounds similar to the colors you are considering. I personally think that the indoor/outdoor feel is enhanced by using the same colors on the ceiling as the eaves and the indoor and outdoor portions of the beams.

In addition there is often an accent wall inside the house that is covered with the same siding material as the outside. In my not so humble opinion, it should also be the same color as the exterior siding.

Hello Tod,

Thank you for you input. Hmmm..... your eaves are a light sage green to match the ceiling. My ceiling is white, the beams are white. I guess I should do white. But I really like your color scheme.

I like the brown fascia accent (I called it "thingee").

Regarding the accent wall, I don't have one. If I do, then it's luan paneling.

If I were to paint the beams brown, then I would definitely carry that theme into living space. I guess the reason I'm leaning towards brown (or any impact color) is that I've seen that contrast (white ceiling against black/brown/dark purple beams) in magazines with Eichler homes.

Thank you again, Tod.

David

p.s. I'm not sure if you remember me, but you helped about a year ago with automatic garage opener while keeping the original garage doors. The garage openers were *finally* installed last week.
