This monumental award was given by the AIA for being firm of the year to the architectural duo of A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons in 1969. The sculptural award consists of a wooden base which supports a series of blocks, each with a photograph or drawing done by Jones and Emmons. Some of the 25 photos were taken by Julius Shulman, and include residences, libraries, a fine arts building, and other great works designed from the late 1940s to 1969.
Jones and Emmons were responsible for the design of many Eichler homes, along with case study house number 24 in Chatsworth.
The award can be taken apart, with the upper photographic block detachable from the lower wooden base. Because of the fragility of the award, I will not ship, but may be able to deliver to Northern California addresses, or will accept local pickup. We are located in Lakeport, California, 2.5 hours North of San Francisco. It measures 6' high, 40" wide, and 16" deep. There are a few small nicks in various places, but overall condition is very good vintage and is available for $900.
