Pet Doors?

Hi,

I just bought an Eichler in Terra Linda on Las Ovejas. I have a cat moving in with me and need to put in a cat door.

I would hate to cut out a hole in the laundry room door. Has any one had trouble using a cat/dog door with the original sliding glass doors?

I'm in a Eichler in Walnut Creek. (Arcadia Patio Doors)

I picked up a pet door insert at Home Depot and installation was very simple. Measure the height of your door. All the inserts have a min/ max height range. The top of the insert is spring loaded and expands to your door height.

You probably should remember that the door does go two ways. I have heard of people coming home and finding their family pet has company, other cats and sometimes racoons (looking for food).

we temporarily installed a pet door in the slider. it worked well, but didn't like how it chopped up the view. so we went ahead and cut holes through the walls. we kept the cutouts in case we ever change out minds, or for future owners.
