Has anyone replaced the sliding closet doors? What kind of material did you use? Where did you get the new track, door and hardware?

We are interested in replacing our doors. The metal frames and the grasscloth were painted and are not very attractive anymore.

Thanks for the assistance. :)

Not sure about the hardware, but the grasscloth wallpaper can be found at home depot. I just bought some from there that is near original and close enough for me. Since it is wallpaper is should be easy to pop off the wood insert panels, remove the wallpaper, and install the new.

If you are interested let me know and I can get the name of the company that makes the wallpaper.

If you could also email me that would be great, [email protected]. We have mirror covered closet doors in three of the bedrooms and I want to re-cover them with grass cloth.

I have water damage on my grass cloth closet doors (two bedrooms!). I would be very interested in finding out how your project to "wallpaper" the doors turned out. Please e-mail me if you can at [email protected].

Thank you. Any information would be appreciated!

is this home depot grasscloth wallpaper wider than 36"? I've found that some of my closet doors are wider than the standard wallpaper and grasscloth papers.
However, I did find at the local fabric store that the jute burlap is almost an exact match for us in texture, but not in color.

Any other suggestions for coverings? My cat just scratched up an original grasscloth closet (I could kill him)...

I have a set of original closet doors that are in my garage.
You can have them if you want. (Terra Linda)

One set is natural, one set is painted white. I only need one set.

I just replaced two sets with white trim mirrored doors from Yardbirds.
It took a short time to install them and I really like the results.
$150 per set for 8 foot tall by 5 foot wide doors.

ISO clues to strategy for replacing/modifying Eichler closet door tracks to accommodate installation of modern bypass doors. If you have removed the old (ceiling mounted) tracks, how did you replace the top tracks to install new bypass doors? - Please send email reply to [email protected] - Thank you!
