I have a leak in my spirnkler system - a small hole in part of the rubber piping (less than a millimeter in diameter). I tried fixing this leak by covering the area with all purpose adhesive (Weldit brand - claims it will stop leaks in rubber hoses); however, when I turn the water back on, the pressure is too high, and the adhesive lasts for about 5 seconds.
Any suggestions on how to repair this leak?
As I said, the hole is really small - looks like it might have come from a nail, when we had our fence repalced.
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a landscaper to fix this? The landscapers that I've called are only doing major jobs - and have no time for small repairs... I'm in Palo Alto. Please e-mail recommendations directly to me at eddie DOT gornish AT hp DOT com
thanks
Sorry, don't know anything about rubber, but that's why I ask . . . I thought PVC (and flexible plastric for cold climates) is the norm, so how did rubber get into your system.
If the rubber piece joins 2 PVC ends, you may have to replace the whole rubber pipe run; normally, rubber anything is held by pressure coupled at both ends, and can't be repair unless it is spliced at the hole, and another pressure coupling of some sort is used . . . just speculating since no one chimed it yet.
