The fog comes in on little cat feet, wrote the poet, and few places in the Bay Area does it make this visitation more often than in lovely Pacifica.
Furthermore, as far as the seller of an equally lovely mid-century modern home there is concerned, that meteorological condition is a selling point.
"The view is so nice," says Maddie Rea, owner of 441 Belfast Avenue in the Pedro Point neighborhood of Pacifica. The two-bedroom cottage, built in 1962, was listed recently by agent Juliette Kulda of the Kulda Real Estate Group for a fairly modest $999,000.

With a living room wall of glass and a balcony facing Pedro Point and Linda Mar Beach on the coast, Rea says, under the right conditions, "It's like a sea of white fog coming in under the deck. It's so cool!"
The two-story house has one bathroom each upstairs and down and 1,110 square feet of interior sitting on just over one-sixth of an acre. There is a wealth of unpainted wood paneling inside and several design features that accentuate the misfortune that the architect is unknown.
"The story that my mom told me was she bought it from an artist lady who had it custom built," recalls Rea, a dog groomer by trade who lives in nearby Montara. She said her mother, Katherine ‘Kitty' Rea, bought the house in 1973 with earnings from playing a national tour of the musical ‘Godspell.' (Ms. Rea, who was also in the show's original San Francisco production, usually played the parts of Lamar or Gilmer.)

"She passed away last April, and that's why I'm selling the house," said the daughter, whose grandmother lived in the house when Maddie was growing up in Montara.
"My grandma took really good care of it," she recalled. The house was rented to a tenant from 2012 up until two months ago, Rea said, adding, "He took great care of it too."
