Handyman recommendation?

Looking for handyman to do minor remodeling job. It includes patching of ceiling (where it used to be a hole for the broiler and heater exhaust pipe), install laminate flooring in family room. Any recommendation? I have contacted several of the handyman listed in the Eichler network, they are not very responsive.... Do you think I really need an handyman who is expereince with Eichler house to patch the ceiling? Or handyman should be able to do the job?
