This dining table was made for Joseph Eichler by Arthur Espenet Carpenter in 1966. I worked for art for some years and am familiar with his work.
Art kept records of everything he made and art's son Tripp is continuing to work in Art's shop and he checked Art's records and the table was indeed made in November of 1966 for Joseph eichler. I believe Joe had this table at his residence at 666 Green st.
My friend Tom worked for Eichler in Walnut Creek and when Joe died in 1974 Tom bought the table from Joe's wife Lillian and he has had the table ever since
The table is now at my house in Lafayette and is going to be for sale. There is a strong market for any of Espenet's furniture but I thought it would be good to let the Eichler Network know about it first.
This is a large dining or conference table and is made of solid walnut and it is 10' long and there are two 24" extensions that make it 14" .
Excellent addition to an Eichler MCM house.
I can't figure out to attach photos. Email me and I can send them..Or tell me how to attache them
