Does anyone have any experience with these gas heaters? Our radiant was put out of service by the previous owners, who replaced it with a forced air system. Unfortunately, the forced air system only serves the bedroom wing of the house, so we are hunting for a heating option for the living/family area and we are trying to avoid exterior ductwork (the existing system has ducts through the hall closet area, not outside). Internet research led me to these Rinnai heaters, which get great reviews, don't require ductwork, vent out a wall, and are very efficient. They are expensive, though, so I am wondering whether anyone has tried one of these.
Thanks for your input.
Andy
For a little bit more I'd go with a mini-split system. You'll get heat and a/c and LG even has the Artcool model that looks pretty modern. You also won't be taking up valuable floor space and will have a home improvement that will add a little value to the house as not having heat is usually not a big selling point.
Thanks for the suggestion. I thought that mini-splits are electric; otherwise I would definately be interested. I don't want to heat the house with electricity -- too expensive. Am I wrong about this? -Andy
The mini split duct systems are supposed to be Energy efficient.
I had a chance to look at a lot on vacation in Europe, it seems like everyplace you went the had the Split Duct Systems
Gas prices have been increasing and from a recent news report you can expect them to almost double this coming winter due to Katrina.
Were currently looking at different options. I'm getting a quote on the Unico System which is small ducts high volumne, and also on the Split Duct Systems
What did you end up doing?
If you did, are you satisfied? Would you do it again?
Thanks
