Success! Dual garage door openers installed

I cribbed the design from my neighbor, and it took a couple days to get right (largely because I've never installed an opener before), but I am happy to report success with dual openers on sliding doors.

Awesome stuff... thanks for posting the pics.

I'm looking forward to clearing out my garage and then installing these openers. i'll surely ping you for some details. If you can post the details of the opener model and cost that'll be great.

I went with the cheapest 1/2 horsepower Chamberlains that I could find. Picked them up at Lowe's for $129 each + the 8 foot extension for $35. In order to open the sliders all the way you will need the extension as the doors are over 7 feet wide. If I had to do it again, I might have tried using Genie screw drive units but the Chamberlains work well enough.
