Does anyone else have an opinion on the new orange clapboard signs being used to announce various neighborhood meetings news, etc in Terra Linda ? These thing, cabled to trees in intersections are really an eyesore.
Here is what I have learned so far, ( and thanks to those that responded directly via e-mail) The Santa Margarita association ( remember them, they wanted us all to contribute money to "beautify the creek"...well someone there decided to use the clapboards (that they chain to the trees and the creek fence) to try and increase attendance to the Town Hall meetings, mostly to get higher voting for a local proposal to increase taxes for Police and Fire...(not a bad thing)
The person we spoke with was very defensive and asked if the only reason we were concerned about the signs cheapening our neighborhood was because we were going to "flip" our property, and he wished they had more control over who bought and moved into Terra Linda...(hmmmm?)
At any rate, at the end of the conversation he agreed the signs were ugly.
But now they have become entertaining as the local kids have been re-arranging the letters to create x-rated messages.
