Is using an "Eichler-specialist" always worth it?

We are finally getting around to addressing a number of maintenance issues with our 1963 Sunnyvale Eichler: roof leaks, rotting siding, painting, beam repair, the list goes on.
Is it always worth it to hire "Eichler specialists"? "Eichler specialist" often means extra $$$ but experience working on Eichlers is definitely valuable.
When would you hire a "regular" service provider and when would you go with an Eichler expert?
