I haven't heard when the next one will be, but we have the tour every spring so I'm sure there will be one this year too.

We normally have one every summer. --Great way to meet the neighbors you don't already know, see what they have done to fix up their homes, and just generally get ideas for that next home improvement project.

I would contact Loni Nagwani - our Eichler neighbor and RE Agent as she would know. She is always active on the planning committee.

The link an be found at the to of the home page.

You may want to ask somebody else...Loni is not very reliable when it comes to returning emails or messages. :(

Sorry to hear you've had trouble reaching Loni. I've not heard that complaint from others I've referred to her. And she's always been very prompt getting back to me. Not that I doubt the previous poster's experience. I'm just saying it sounds atypical. I don't think "lack of response" is how most people would characterize her--in fact, probably the opposite ;-) she's pretty involved with her clients and community.

I live in the Willow Glen Eichlers so I'll ask around about this year's tour and post what I find out.

Cheers.
Jake

P.S. I don't want to start a discussion on a given person here. Just felt I should balance the input. I trust the moderator will edit my posting if I've stepped out of bounds.

The word is that there will likely be a home tour again this year.

This is about the time (April) they normally start to get organized--see who is interested in being on the tour, who has the time to be on the organizing committee, and who is willing to be chairperson.

I think the most difficult thing is to find a good selection of homes (and homeowners) willing to be on the tour. The next challenge is to find a date that works for everyone.

I'm guessing it will be sometime in June (before school lets out and people head 4 directions for holidays), but no guarantees. If you're interested in the date when it comes available, I can email you.

Cheers.

I second Jake's comment about Loni. I have known her for 5+ years and she has always been very responsive. Now, if you are trying to get a recommendation for a contractor or home improvement professional in writing via email, that's one thing (she and other RE agents prefer to provide that verbally via a phone conversation for risk management purposes). The home tour may be a separate issue since (correct me if I am wrong Jake and other locals) - I believe it is intended to be a local event for the Fairglen tract - as opposed to the whole Bay Area - and thus is not usually publicized beyond mailers in our neighborhood.

I know that some folks are reluctant to put their homes on the tour as they worry about having too many strangers in their homes, if you get my drift.

Regards,

Cathye
