My Eichler still has working radiant heating...any suggestions for a good kitchen floor covering? I had read about Bamboo (Plyboo?), would like something less slick than tile , but not sure what works well with the heating ...maybe tile is best?

Tile is best as it actually helps to hold the heat and then radiate it into the room. Bamboo and other floating floors don't conduct heat as well and the layer of air underneath them actually acts as an insulator keeping the heat from reaching the room.

Stone tile like slate and ceramic tiles work well. Generally, the same flooring is used throughout the entire house in Eichlers. Vinyl Composite Tile also works well and is affordable compared to stone and ceramic.
