Q's on Sealing the Ceiling....

Hello Everyone,

I am pretty close to having my home painted..... a friend and neighbor suggested that I seal the ceiling before I paint.

What is involved? Do I inject silicone into the grooves where the beams meet the ceiling?

Should I hire someone to do it? Can a handyman do it?
