referral for beam restoration specialist in LA area

I'm buying a 1955 post and beam house in Los Angeles that's had some pretty sloppy beam repair done on it in the past. Does anyone have a recommendation for a roofing contractor who has experience with restoring beams properly? I want it done right this time.
