Reinstalling closet doors after flooring installation

hi
we are in the process of re-doing the floors in our ca 1962 Greenmeadow Eichler. We are replacing vinyl tile with ceramic. I have been removing baseboards, closet doors, etc. in preparation for the installation and have a question.

When the floors are done, what do we need to do to re-fit the closet doors (original). ?? I can replace the base guide well enough, drilling into the tile, but realize it will now be a little higher than before....will this mean I need to move the upper tracks? Can I do so? Would prefer to avoid trimming the doors if at all possible....
TIA

You're probably talking about a 1/8"-1/4" adjustment? If I recall, the hardware for the closets allow for some height adjustments, so before you go cutting doors you could check.... I think it was this way so that you could lift up the door and then insert it into the bottom track. We removed our doors and replaced them when we redid our floors. We didn't lose any height from our new floors, but I still remember the hardward having some room to move. Sorry I'm not positive, but you might not have a problem afterall...good luck

We had a similar issue after installing hardwood floors. I ended up cutting 1/2 '' off the TOP of the doors and reinstalling them in the old tracks, just a little higher. Whatever you do do not cut from the bottom. If you cut from the top there is absolutely no visible impact since the top of the doors is hidden from view anyways.
