Repairing dry rot bottom edge of exterior panels

In several places where there are no overhangs on the flat-roofed Eichler, the bottom 2 - 3 inches of the exterior panels have gone to dry-rot. Have you dealt with this kind of situation? It would be great to hear from you.

OR, perhaps you can recommend an experienced professional. I really don't want to replace entire panels since, it seems to me this would "mess up" the edging on our roof that's only a couple of years old.
