Replacing bathroom light fixture

Hi, I just had my hall bathroom remodeled. I decided to stain the ceiling but it turns out it made the room kind of dark.

Here is the picture of it: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/chpb/detail?.dir=bb93&.dnm=f969.jpg&.src=ph

I tried purchasing a modern ceiling light with 2 bulbs in it, but it turns out that it requires a standard build in bracket buried in the ceiling, which is not available in the eichler because of the red wood ceiling. Does anyone have any recommendation of a modern ceiling light that can be installed in an eichler?

Go to HD and find a shallow, 4", round electrical box. Feed the wires through the knockout(un-knocked out in my picture), screw the box to the ceiling, and hang your light. The little box costs about $1.50.

The table is a relic of my father's swinging, 1950s bachelorhood. I thought it was appropriate.

Check out the P5616-16 outdoor ceiling fixture by Progress Lighting on http://www.lightinguniverse.com. I used them in my bathrooms and closets. You can get them in black to match the original globe fixtures or silver to match the globe fixtures sold by IKEA.

Thanks for the suggestions.. I think I'll go with the ikea light.. Found a globe that can handle 75W, should be a little bit brighter than the 60W max of the old globe.

Note that many IKEA fixtures are not rated for damp or wet locations.

You can always slap a 23W compact fluorescent into a fixture that's rated for 60W and get as much light as a 100W bulb!
