Hi All,
I am visiting in the Berkeley/SFO area this weekend and wanted some suggestions on antique shops with cool mid-mod stuff. I know about Retro @ Home, but was hoping to get some input on some more reasonable mom & pop type antique shops or just cool places to shop.

Thanks!

In SanFrancisco, the best thing to do is to start out centrally at Gough and Market Street and you will find:
- plenty on Gough (near Market St),
- a few on Hayes Street (although most places on Hayes Street sell new, mod stuff)
- on both sides of Market Street (if you follow Market Street up until it changes to Castro, you will find some cool shops towards the top of Castro)
- if you really want to make it a fun, mid-century modern day, you can continue following Castro street up into Diamond Heights to see the Eichler single-family homes that were built in San Francisco. The best way to find them is to Google "Diamond Heights Eichler" (WITH the quotes). In doing so, you will quickly find a webpage that includes a google map to their exact location.

Last but not least, there are also some cool MCM/retro shops in the Mission district. Most of them are on the main drag (e.g. Valencia, Guerrero, Mission).

Good luck and happy shopping.
