Oh, the joys of envisioning living in a special place where nature is just outside our door.

Well, we recently discovered a very special mid-century-modern-style home that accomplishes all that and more, combining the delights of indoor-outdoor living with impeccable craftsmanship and inspirational design.

The home, at 26225 Rinconada Drive, is "tucked into the hills overlooking 'The Pastures of Heaven' in Carmel Valley," as stated in the listing by Tim Allen, who is handling the prestigious property now on the market at $3.795 mil.

Built in 1986, "This is a striking home designed by architect Will Bruder," explains Billy Schmidt, marketing director for Tim Allen Properties. "There are so many little details and themes throughout, including a line of mosaic tiles throughout the entire property; and the longer you spend in the house, the more you notice."

Natural materials abound in this special home, which features rough-sawn cedar wood walls, eight-inch-thick reinforced concrete, exposed beams, Douglas Fir and White Oak accents, copper fireplaces, and glass borders.

"The design is very reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright," adds Schmidt, "as well as another architect we've listed recently, Mark Mills, who designed a number of houses around the Monterey Peninsula, including one called the Shell House."

Coffee at sunrise could become your favorite morning pastime, thanks to the precision orientation of the house, which is positioned to appreciate spectacular sunrises from almost every room.

What's more, this unique home sits on 14 acres of rolling hillsides, offers the utmost level of privacy, as well as water access for those who may be interested in adding an ADU or swimming pool.
