Fence Recommendations?
Any eichler owners in the Palo Alto have recommendations for fence contractors? We still have the original (most of it anyway) but, 50 years of wear and tear are bringing it to a sagging finale. We're looking for someone who is reasonably priced but does at least good work in integrating the fence line with the home. Please e-mail recommendations directly to lplaneATyahooDOTcom

As a general suggestion, this reminded me of a tip I got from a fellow eichler owner: There is a non-profit consumer advocacy called Bay Area Consumers Checkbook -www.checkbook.org- that has good background information and Consumer's Digest type ratings on local firms for home repair things such as this, and many many other things. For things that arent necessarily Eichler specific, it may be woth it to check them out. The one caveat I have is that sometimes their info is quite dated, and by no means is it comprehensive. But if you need a couple vendors to get comparative quotes, this is a good resource.
We think we've found a good fence contractor thru this (fingers crossed, havent yet pulled the trigger).
