We have an original eichler kitchen that we are keeping. However, I would like to bring the doors up a bit by replacing the pressboard sliders with something like Steel, aluminum or plastic. Anyone ever done this? Any idea about local resources (in the Bay Area)? Advice appreciated. E-mail recommendations directly to: sallyha AT pacbell.net

i've thought about doing this too. tap plastics in mountain view could probably cut out some panels to size, if you want clear or frosted panels.

There are laser-cutting shops in the area that could cut out shapes for you, if you can get them a CAD file. Something like the free version of sketchup might be enough to get you what you need.

I updated the doors in my last Eichler using transparent plastic from TAP Plastic and aluminum bypass door hardware. The rollers in the bypass door hardware worked great. Looked great too.
