Looking to replace the two medicine cabinets in the hall bath. Anyone have any luck finding a current model with same dimensions and the right look?
Hi Tom,
I went down this path also with no luck.
So, I ended up finding a medicine cabinet I liked - made sure it was larger than the previous - pulled the panel - moved the studs - recut the panel per the new medicine cabinet specs and then reinstalled the panel and then cabinet.
It took me about 8 hours.
FYI - When I pulled the panel - I discoved the wall was double studded to allow for plumbing and vent. So, I was able to place into the walls shelving that was about 8" deep - this has been a great little extra storage find.
I went with plain mirror doors (no metal trim) that I special ordered at Design Expo (the rich people's Home Depot). I don't have the brand name in my head, but they are exclusive to them, and I special ordered them without the beveled edge on the mirrors. Voila! Instant minimal modern aesthetic at half the cost of similar looking Kohler cabs. It's the beveled edge that makes them look ugly.
Here's a picture of one with matching mirrors mounted to the wall on both sides for that big mirror look.
Hi, My hall bath was changed from previous owner and I would like to know what is the original bathroom medicine cabinet / light fixture look like? Does anyone know where I can get a look of it?
The hall bathroom has 2 sinks. The cabinet is original but the doors are changed. I also would like to restore it back.
Any pictures will be helpful.
Regards,
Diana
I'd like your old cabs, if they are the originals.
Cheers
Sean
