Does anyone know where I can find replacement interior Eichler paneling? I think it's called Philippine Mahogany--1/4". Ditto the 1/4" quarter-round edging. The problem, of course, is that one wall is 8.5' tall, so Southern Lumber doesn't work.
Please let me know,
macbeath lumber in berkeley sells "meranti" (which is luan) in 4X10 sheets (1/4in)... a bit more red than the original. we used it in the office.
My experience with Southern Lumber is that they can get almost anything, so they might be able to get the long panels on special order.
Also, while not exactly "purist", I've found that by experimenting with stain colors on plain pine 1/4 round you can create an almost undetectable replacement for the original. No one's ever noticed. You have to be pretty close to notice the difference in grain pattern, and the Lauan 1/4 round is only available through custom milling as far as I know.
ajm: where have you found 1/8in (pine) quarter-round?
This was several years ago, (~2000), but at that time I bought the pine 1/4 round at Minton's in Mountain View. I haven't checked recently to see if they still carry it.
