noisy loud skylight

We had some hard rain this morning, not typical for marin county in sept. I am happy to find out now rather than in january- that our master bedroom/bath original eichler skylight( square, 15 inches approx.) is unbelievably loud, sounded as if rocks were being thrown at the ceiling. help- any suggestion? can't sleep!!! mistlight panels in hallway are also very loud when rain hits them!
