We currently have the original counter inserts for the Nutone blender.
We also have the original mixer cnister.
However, the blender doesn't work.

From the looks of things, the motor is still fastened under the counter.

How can we
1. get the motor out without removing the counter and taking the whole kitchen apart.
2. determine how to replace/repair the motor.

we are in 1962 Greenmeadow Eichler in palo alto.

Hi Sally,

I would suggest you contact a Nutone service center and see what they would charge to come and take a look. To find a repair center, go to the Nutone website and click on "dealer locator" at the top of the page (actually finds dealers or service centers or parts centers). It asks for product category but I don't know if you have to select one to get the zip code lookup to work. Try just your zipcode, if it insists on a product category as well, choose something somewhat similar (for instance, fans ).

I believe the last model of the Nutone kitchen center was 251--mine was 221. I called the Nutone customer technical support and they were able to email me a PDF of the 221's uninstall procedure. If you email me your address, I will forward that to you. You can email me at eichfan at rawbw dot com .

If you have a different model than mine, changes are Nutone still has some literature on it. You might want to call the Nutone technical support (numbers on the webpage) and see what literature they have for your model then arrange to get copies.

Good luck.
