I live in San Francisco. I have an Eichler-like home. How can I find out who was the original architect?
Thanks,
John
S.F. 's public records are notorious for being incomplete,; your best bet is to check the planning and building dept, for any microfiche records (this may take a few days); also try the county recorder office/ tax assessor's
office (they are in the same building). Good Luck
You could also check with Catherine Munson to see if she could steer you in the right direction. She was one of Joe Eichler's original sales people and worked out of his San Francisco office. For the past many years, she has specalized on Marin County Eichlers, but given her history with the company (and great love for these homes), maybe she can help.
You can locate her via the real estate link on this site.

Do you have any exterior photos of your house? Send me one or post it somewhere and I'll give it a look.
The 50s and 60s saw hundreds of architects design beautiful modern homes, just like Eichler's architects. Also, Anshen+Allen designed several homes for other builders in the Bay Area. What year was it built?
