we are just beginning to paint our Eichler and wonder which areas to paint contrasting colors. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Janet:

I would start by going through the color photos in the Jerry Ditto Eichler book, if you have not done so already. Look at enough pictures, and you'll get the idea. In our area (Willow Glen), it seems standard to have siding and window trim all the same color, with contrasting colors for the beams, ceiling, and the vertical edge along the roof (senior moment, cannot remember what this is called...). Two colors, or maybe three at the most.

Our home is spanish sand, with dark brown beams and white ceiling. White beams are also common in our area.
