Chimney Reinforcement

Does anyone know whether chimneys in Eichler homes have internal steel reinforcement? Ours was built around 1969 in Los Altos.

I have been wondering the same thing about my Eichler chimney in Sunnyvale. Our chimney looks strong and has survived many strong earthquakes, but I have 3 little girls now and am worried the chimney may not fare well in the next big one.
