Zolatone in kitchen

Today, while investigating installing a replacement oven, I removed the 1980s-vintage GE unit and saw a bit of grey fleck paint around the edge of the cabinet opening, which I figure must be original Zolatone. Now the oven enclosure cabinet is painted white, but now I'm curious: Was the original color of the cabinets in the entire kitchen this grey fleck paint? What about the sliding doors? I'd like to restore it to original.

Thanks!

Dan

Yes. All the cabinets would have been that color zolotone, including the bathroom vanities and probably your closet doors. The cabinet sliding doors would likely have been white on white zolotone, along with the inserts in the closet doors, although I'm sure other variations existed.

Thanks much for the info! Does anybody have pictures of the cupboards with the original Zolatone?

Loni Nagwani's house has the original zolotone cabinets. You can see a tour on her web site at hitechrealtor.com.
