Noise Solutions, Inc., maker of the Great Eichler Window, went out of business. Does anyone know a company that can make plexiglass inserts for Eichlers?
first understand how plexi is made.
It's made from pellets of the stuff. Melted and then extruded onto a plate sandwich. Old days had that plates made of glass, as the technology to make metal that would have the finish and hold up was not there. It's been decades since I was a designer for industrial controls, which made some of the controls for these processes.
That had a mold and were in the 'standard' sizes. 4'x8' woulbe typical. The Eichler requires a much larger, so custom mold. Molds cost in the tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars and the maintenance cost is also very high.
Volume would drive the model and assume there wasn't enough volume to support that/those companies.
Hopefully the molds are still around and they didn't destroy them. BUT the issue will be finding another vendor willing to take the cost of the whole thing.
